EDUCATION IN UKRAINE.

EDUCATION IN UKRAINE...........

 Hi there ,

As promised, in this post I shall be giving you an introduction about the education system in Ukraine and for the next few posts we shall delve deeper into it and explore each and every aspect that makes the education system in this country so much better.

First the literacy rate in Ukraine is almost 100 % !!!! :O Almost EVERYBODY in this country have some form of education.
In cities like Lugansk, Kharkov, they are called “student cities” because of the sheer number of domestic and foreign students studying in such cities.

this is Luhansk city in a bird's eye view...

and this is Kharkov city .......

So, getting back to the point of education system,

We are going to talk about the Medical Higher Education in Ukraine

All the medical universities in Ukraine follow the Bologna Process, which involves a number of agreements and treaties as put together by European countries to create a unified and standard European Higher Education System.
The main aim of accepting this process was to maintain a parity in the education system in Ukraine with the rest of Europe.

The Universities in Ukraine also follow ECTS, which is short for European Credit Transfer System which essentially means that a university can transfer a student’s credit point to another university in Europe and prevent a year loss because of the equality of standard of education between the two as granted by the Bologna process.

This all may seem a bit complicated for you all to understand, but it is important that you should know all the aspect of education of this country and how to follow them.

The Medical Schools here follow a 6 years curriculum and at the end of it you shall be awarded with MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree. This degree is equivalent to MBBS degree in India and is accepted all over the world.

A student may appear for USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) (applicable for all students)

PLAB (Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board Test, for students wanting to practice in United Kingdom (UK)  (applicable for all students)

Canadian Medical Licensing Examination (for practicing in Canada) (applicable for all students)

Indian students can appear for MCI Screening Test (Medical Council of India) and practice in India after completion of a mandatory year of internship in a government hospital.  (applicable for only Indian students, since foreign nationals can't practice in India as medical professionals)

The main idea is that the degree is valid EVERYWHERE and students are welcome to choose their destination of work after graduation according to their choice.

So for now, you must have got the basic idea how medical universities in Ukraine work… next post shall deal with how the education in these universities are like and which ones are the top notch universities to choose from.. Consider Edufacts to be your personalized version of Times University Rating ))))
Also in later posts, I shall talk about the specific advantages to an Indian student to study in Ukrainian medical universities.. wanna know why ??? well then keep an eye out for the post.. until then……
